Adult Civics Education
Share |

The CBA launched the Adult Civics Education Project in 2006 under the leadership of CBA Past President Norman K. Janes, offering civic education classes to the public free of charge. The adult civics education program provides an opportunity for lawyers to share their expertise in civic issues with adults.

We are seeking volunteer attorneys to serve as facilitators and presenters for these adult civic education classes, which range from one one-hour class to four two-hour classes. Lesson plans and training are provided by the CBA. From real-life scenarios, participants learn how our government affects their daily lives, through discussions of topical issues such as eminent domain, government wiretapping, the death penalty, and the right-to-die debate.

For more information on the programs or to volunteer, please contact the Connecticut Bar Association at (860)612-2025 or civicsed@ctbar.org.
