Speakers:

Program:
Graduate "students"; graduate "assistants"; or graduate "employees"? Two distinguished labor lawyers -- one representing unions, one representing management -- will discuss how people pursuing Ph.D.s and other advanced degrees should be categorized under labor law. They also will discuss the push by some unions -- including Local 33 Unite Here at Yale University -- to unionize via so-called "micro-bargaining units" and the impact of the Trump Administration on the NLRB's approach to these "micro-unions."
